Youth Theatre - Jack Petchey Awards

Jack Petchey Foundation Outstanding Achievement Awards Roll of Honour

 

Twice a year, one of our Youth Theatre members is elected by the rest of the group to receive a prestigious Jack Petchey Oustanding Achievement Award 'recognising effort, endeavour and achievement in a practical and positive way'. The winner receives a framed certificate and a medallion at our annual Awards Ceremony.

In addition, each award-winner is able to choose how the grant amount is used to benefit their group as a whole - which could mean anything from recording equipment or Youth Theatre tshirts, to theatre trips for all the members!

Karis Braithwaite - Spring Term 2010
Award spent on... to be decided!

Karis performed in 'Seven' 2006, 'Our Day Out' 2007, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' 2008, 'Stephen K Patterson' 2009, 'All Tuned In' 2009

• Karis is very good at acting and is a very friendly person • A good actor and is always well behaved • Karis always listens and is very friendly to everyone. I think she is good at Drama too • Brilliant drama and effort • Karis is always really friendly to everyone and always puts full effort into everything she does • She has been a great friend to me throughout the whole time I have been at Youth Theatre

 

Kelly Alexander - Autumn Term 2009

• Kelly is really friendly and always happy • She is very intelligent and she is good at drama • Kelly is very kind and good at acting • I nominate Kelly because when I come every week she helps me and I love her smiling smile • Kelly constantly works hard and is a good role model  

 

Matthew Neal - Spring Term 2009

Matthew performed in 'Seven' 2006, 'Our Day Out' 2007, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' 2008, 'Stephen K Patterson' 2009, 'All Tuned In' 2009

• Matt has fully committed himself, thrown all his effort into everything and fitted in really well • Because since he's come here, he's developed a lot in his performance skills and confidence • We have been going to Arc for three years and have made a great friendship • He is always willing to do the tasks and it looks like he tries to the best of his ability • Always friendly and energetic and a great actor • Because he is hard-working, a pleasure to work with and always wears a smile on his face

 

Rachel Hayden - Summer Term 2009

Rachel performed in 'Stephen K Patterson' 2009, 'All Tuned In' 2009

• Rachel is always friendly and puts a lot of effort into her acting • She is nice to me, welcomes me and is always smiling • I nominate Rachel as she comes to Youth Theatre after going to work and does very well and remembers her lines. She also does silly things for her character even if she doesn't really want to • She was one of the first to welcome me and she really helped me to settle in • She is a great friend, always makes me laugh, kind to everyone, always smiling

 

Anil Sivarajah - July-September 2008

• Anil always brightens up the room with his humour. I really enjoy working with him and he is someone special that I would recommend for anybody in their life • For managing to turn his attitude around completely and being quiet when he was supposed to be • Because he had a really rough start and didn't know his lines for ages but in the last week or so he really turned it around and performed really well • He had great performances throughout his time in the Broadway and was there to give support to people who needed it • He learnt his monologue • He always contributes and is kind to everyone even if he doesn't know them. He has a great sense of humour as well • He is friendly and works well with everyone • Very committed, friendly and a good laugh. Even though loud, he is good inspiration and is very humble

 

Mae Henderson - July-September 2008

• Mae always learns lines well and makes them easily understandable and is always being friendly • Mae works hard and always puts 100% into everything she does. She brightens up the room • She is committed, someone that I can talk to every week and has great personality

 

Chloe Butler - October-December 2008

• Being a good 'Puck' and trying hard and really supporting me as a fairy • Always helpful and 100% committed to the group • She put a lot of effort into what she does when acting in a group • A good actress and helped me out in the first week • She is committed to the group and always friendly to everyone

 

Chloe Smith - October-December 2008

• Chloe is awesome • For being helpful in rehearsing and being a good role model • Being a dedicated member and always smiling • She is a committed member, is also friendly, warm and cheerful • She has been a fantastic and caring member for the past three years and even if she isn't a main part she still participates

Vicky Downes - April-June 2008

Vicky performed in 'Our Day Out' 2007, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' 2008

• Vicky is nice to me and good at her part • She really works hard • She is a great asset to the Youth Theatre. She performs the role of 'Titania' with great passion and enthusiasm and is welcoming and friendly • She was always dedicated and enthusiastic in rehearsals and fantastic to work with in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and I'm sure will be again

 

Robert Storey - April-June 2008

• Robert is very good and inspiring when acting. He's always polite and a good team worker • A good team player and always knows what he's doing. A laugh to work with • Committed, hard working, friendly • Hard working, always up for anything, a real diamond to work with and he always makes me laugh!

• Consistent application and focus and effort • She has improved huge amounts over the years and is a lovely, friendly person to be with and she deserves it • Ruth is really good as 'Snout' in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. She is also always kind and supportive of me and nice • She is hard working, gets along with everyone and is such a lovely, gentle girl!

• Laura is always being friendly, enthusiastic and a good actress • Great role model and enthusiastic in whatever role she plays. Good 'Mrs Kay' as well • A lovely, enthusiastic young girl, who is always smiling and doesn't let anything get her down • She makes me laugh and is always enthusiastic, good at drama and lovely • She's lovely and friendly to everyone. She's always smiling and very enthusiastic and I think she deserves it! • She is cool! • For being a great actress and always being friendly, well-mannered and helpful • Because I think she is a lovely, sweet person who is always happy and has been very brave! • She has a nice personality, she is a good actress, she remembers most words in the play and she is very welcoming

 

Emma Attwood - July-September 2007

• Because I was new and she talked to me and told me what to do and helped me and was really nice • Because she has great vocal levels for delivering great performances. She is also extremely friendly to new Youth Theatre members and always has a great amount of energy • She was kind to me when I first got here and helped me • Because she has a really positive attitude and approach to everything and was really good to work with when we did 'Our Day Out' • She is very friendly and she works really hard • Very friendly and cheerful. Hardworker • She is always focused and constantly projects her voice. Also, she is lovely person who is always willing to help • Confident acting and volume • Because she is a colourful, bubbly, bright girl who is an amazing actress. And Loud! • Because she has amazing energy - especially in the beach scene in 'Our Day Out' - I would have found that scene a lot more difficult if it weren't for her. Also she has great commitment and acting ability

• Katie is very helpful and has helped me a lot over the years • I feel that she has worked incredibly hard in all the past shows and it would be good for her to get some recognition as she has been dedicated and hardworking within the group for so long • Because she always tries her best in everything she participates in and is a role model for the newer group members • Outstanding effort • Always attends regularly • Kind to everyone • Helped me fit in when I was new • Because she was really nice to me when I first joined (x2) • Katie worked really hard and did really well with her lines. Also she is a very approachable person

 

Alex Tucker - January-March 2007

•  Alex showed total commitment throughout rehearsals. His behaviour was impeccable and he always managed himself in a mature and professional manner. He learnt his lines superbly and delivered four stunning performances. He is an asset to the group and a role member to all • Alex is an excellent role model and sets a great example to all members. His commitment and dedication to 'Our Day Out' was very impressive too • He played his character well and his projected his voice really well. He is a nice guy to work with • He's a very committed member of our club and has been coming here for a long time. He is a very good group leader and an inspiration to others in the group • His outstanding achievement • He is very dedicated to his work
